  • Farming in C’garh to be linked to MGNREGS: CM

    Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Thursday said the State Government will link development of farming sector in Chhattisgarh with Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS).

    Addressing the 8th Indian Horticultural Congress at the Indira Gandhi Agriculture University (IGAU) here, the Chief Minister said that during the upcoming Gram Sabhas on January 26, the grazing ground for cattle must be identified.

    He said that the Agriculture Production Commssioner had been directed to organise Gram Sabhas in co-ordination with Panchayat and Rural Development Department.

    The Chief Minister said that due to lack of irrigation facilities, one is encountering the problem of stray cattle in the farming sector.

    He urged the farmers to confine cattle so that cost of putting up fensing could be saved.

    Baghel urged the farmers to seek advise of agricultural scientists to grow tomato, onion and potato crops.

    He also urged the farmers to advise farmers on conserving crops due to effect of climate change.

    “People cutting across religious divides volunteered to set the makeshift prayer hall by collecting prayer mats from nearby houses and making other arrangements,” he said, adding over 300 people attended the Eid prayers and the speech followed.

    Eravathur is one of the worst flood-affected places in Thrissur district where over 3000 people are still living in flood relief camps and nearby houses. Three relief camps have been set up at Eravathur.

    The Eid prayers at temple hall was led by Jaseer Darimi and special prayers conducted for the flood-hit.

  • कांग्रेस के वरिष्ठ नेता पी चिदम्बरम के रिश्तेदार की अपहरण के बाद हत्या

    चेन्नई. पूर्व केन्द्रीय मंत्री और कांग्रेस के वरिष्ठ नेता पी चिदम्बरम के संबंधी शिवमूर्ति का अपहरण कर हत्या कर दी गयी है. पुलिस ने बुधवार को बताया कि शिवमूर्ति एक होजरी की फैक्ट्री चलाते थे.

    उनका अपहरण कर मेट्टुपालायम के निकट कारामदई के जंगलों में ले जाकर हत्या कर दी गई. 47 वर्षीय शिवमूर्ति का शव होशूर के निकट केरावारल्ली डैम से मिला.

    पुलिस ने बताया कि शिवमूर्ति के गायब होने की सूचना उनके पिता चिन्नासामी ने मंगलवार को दी. उन्होंने बताया कि उनका पुत्र सोमवार से लापता है.

    पुलिस ने जीपीएस सिस्टम के जरिये उनकी कार पर नजर रखी. इसी दौरान राष्ट्रीय राजमार्ग पर गश्त कर रही पुलिस पेट्रोल टीम ने अम्बुर तालुक में मंगलवार की रात को एक कार को रोका.

    कार में तीन लोग सवार थे. कार में सवार विमल मणिभारती और गोथम से पूछताछ की गयी तो उनके बयान विरोधाभास नजर आये. तीनों को अम्बुर तालुका थाने लाकर गहन पूछताछ की गयी तो उन्होंने शिवमूर्ति के अपहरण और उनकी हत्या की बात कबूल की.

    पुलिस से पूछताछ में तीनों ने बताया कि हत्या करने में शिवमूर्ति का मित्र मूर्ति भी शामिल था. उन्होंने बताया कि मूर्ति की पत्नी के शिवमूर्ति के साथ अवैध संबंध थे.

    मूर्ति की पत्नी शिवमूर्ति की फैक्ट्री में काम करती है. मूर्ति के कहने पर उन्होंने हत्या को अंजाम दिया और शव को डैम में फेंक दिया.

    पुलिस ने उनकी निशानादेही पर होशूर के निकट शिवमूर्ति के शव को डैम से निकाला. पुलिस इस मामले में मूर्ति की तलाश कर रही है.

    On the occasion of the 2nd International Day of Yoga celebrations at Chandigarh on 21st June, 2016, the Hon’ble Prime Minister had announced the institution of awards for the promotion and development of Yoga. The Ministry of AYUSH developed the guidelines for the awards. Two committees were constituted, viz., Screening Committee (for preliminary evaluation) and Evaluation Committee (Jury), so that a transparent process is followed in finalizing the awards.  Nomination for the awards were invited through open advertisement.

    The Screening Committee chaired by Secretary (AYUSH) drew up a shortlist from the 186 applications. The Jury chaired by the Cabinet Secretary, with the Additional Principal Secretary to Prime Minister, the Foreign Secretary, Secretary (AYUSH), Dr. H. R. Nagendra, Sh. O. P. Tiwari and Dr. B. N. Gangadhar as members, examined the recommendations of the Screening Committee, and also made its own analysis of the contributions made by the institutions and individuals shortlisted.

    After considering all relevant facts and other inputs, the Jury recommended that the Award for the current year be given to Sh. Vishwas Mandalik (in the category Individual – National) and The Yoga Institute, Mumbai (in the category Organisation – National).

    The Government of India has accepted the recommendation to honour the Sh. Vishwas Mandalik, Nasik and The Yoga Institute, Mumbai with the Prime Minister’s Award for Outstanding Contribution for the Promotion and Development of Yoga for 2018. The award for 2017 was won by Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Yoga Institute, Pune.

    Sh. Vishwas Mandalik acquired in-depth knowledge of authentic Patanjali & Hatha Yoga, Bhagwad Gita and Upnishad by study and research of ancient scriptures for over last 55 years. In 1978, he set up first branch of Yoga Vidya Dham, and as of today there are 160 centres in India. He established Yoga Institute called Yoga Vidhya Gurukul in 1983 for the Yoga Education. Yoga Chaitanya Seva Pratisthan, a trust was set up by him to propagate Yoga in remote parts of India in 1994. He has written 42 books and developed 300 CDs to cover various training courses.

    The Yoga Institute – established in 1918 by Shri Yogendraji, has completed its 100 years serving the society, touching the lives of over 10 Million people during its journey.  It has produced more than 50000 yoga teachers and has over 500 publications to its credit.  The Yoga Institute has contributed to the promotion and development of holistic Yoga for over 10 decades, and served every section of the society both locally and globally.

    Vedata’s copper plant in 2013, Tamil Nadu’s ex-chief minister, Jayalalitha had issued the closure after the alleged gas leak, but the company went to the NGT and the case lasted for several years. The current vedata can produce 400,000 tonnes of copper cathodes annually, and now the company wants to make it the world’s largest copper exporting plot.

    It is run by the Sterlite Copper Unit of Vedata which is under the control of Vedata Sterlite Limited. The company is a majority-owned subsidiary of Vedata listed in London. This plant has been running over the past 20 years at Milavitan in Tuticorin.

    Earlier this plant was closed for 15 days due to maintenance on March 27 because the company wishes to double its production capacity. Sterlite Copper is currently operating a unit that produces 400,000 tonnes annually in Tuticorin and the company plans to double the capacity at smelter up to 800,000 tons per year. The company says the unit has obtained the necessary permits and has not violated any of the criteria.

    The Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board operated smelter in April during the closure of the plant.
