Weekly metal market: 24‑carat gold up ₹8,257, silver up ₹12,788

In the latest weekly update, the India Bullion Jewellers Association disclosed that 24‑carat gold rose by ₹8,257, reaching ₹1,60,620 per 10 grams. The 22‑carat and 18‑carat grades also appreciated, trading at ₹1,47,128 and ₹1,20,465 per 10 grams respectively. Silver’s price jumped by ₹12,788, crossing the ₹2,46,630 per kilogram mark. The week’s price swing saw gold’s minimum at ₹1,52,884 on August 19 and a maximum of ₹1,60,620 on August 21. Silver moved between ₹2,27,392 and ₹2,46,630 per kilogram over the same period. International markets kept gold near $4,600 per ounce and silver around $69 per ounce, as lower bond yields and a search for safe‑haven investments bolstered demand.
