Vibrant Gujarat Fuels Investment in Aerospace and Semiconductors

Jaipur, October 22: Industrial growth in Gujarat is gaining speed, and the Vibrant Gujarat platform is playing a central role in drawing investment into a number of new and established sectors. Representatives of the state government outlined this trend during a roadshow in Jaipur.

The roadshow is part of outreach for the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit to be held in Rajasthan in 2027. Investment interest has grown in aerospace, defence, semiconductors, data centres, GCCs and GIFT City.

Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited Managing Director Shalini Agarwal said Prime Minister Narendra Modi began the Vibrant Gujarat initiative in 2003, after which industrial activity in the state rose sharply. She said the upcoming summit will take place in January 2027 over three days, from the 10th to the 12th.

Agarwal said that investment has come to Gujarat from different regions of India and from abroad. She pointed to GIFT City, which is developing into an international fintech centre, and to projects such as Dholera SIR, Mandal-Becharaji SIR and Dream City.

Gujarat's Labour and Skill Development Minister Kunwarji Bavaliya said the state had come to Jaipur to hold a roadshow for the January 2027 summit. He said he met industry groups and representatives from various sectors. Bavaliya recalled that when the summit began in 2003, then Chief Minister Narendra Modi, now Prime Minister, launched it, and that regional conferences held across Gujarat since then have had a positive effect on the state. He said this was why the Jaipur roadshow was organised.

Speaking separately, Onkar Bagadia, Co-Chairman of the Rajasthan State Council, said Gujarat holds Vibrant Gujarat every year and that the event attracts significant investment. He said the minister and Rajasthan's industry representatives were discussing ways to bring new investment to Gujarat.

Bagadia further said the ASSOCHAM Rajasthan State Council had invited local industrialists, and that all parties were working on how Rajasthan and Gujarat could cooperate as states. Direct meetings were held with senior Rajasthan industrialists, including representatives of AU Bank and Ananta Hospitality.
