On the second day of his visit, Prime Minister Takahashi joined Indian Prime Minister Modi at the inauguration of a new Maruti Suzuki manufacturing unit in Kharkhoda, Haryana. The plant, valued at roughly 35,000 crore rupees, will be the fourth Maruti facility in India.
The leaders praised the venture as a tangible outcome of the strengthened economic ties between Japan and India. Both emphasized that the plant will generate significant employment opportunities and support India’s broader industrial goals.
The ceremony featured a traditional flag‑hoisting, with Takahashi bowing before the Indian and Japanese national flags as a sign of respect.
