State to Conduct Feasibility Studies for Alternate Airport Location

The Tamil Nadu government has ordered technical feasibility studies for several alternative locations before finalising a new airport site. These studies will evaluate whether the proposed projects can be executed successfully with existing technology, equipment and resources. Vijay stressed that the government will not compromise on environmental safeguards or the rights of local communities. The findings of the studies will guide the selection of a suitable location that balances connectivity needs with socio‑economic considerations.
