60 Highway Corridors Selected for Full EV Truck Charging Infrastructure

The Indian government has finalized a list of sixty national highways where a full-fledged electric‑truck charging infrastructure will be established.

These corridors will feature high‑power fast chargers capable of delivering an 80% charge in under an hour, along with auxiliary services such as battery swapping, diagnostic bays and rest areas for drivers.

By concentrating resources on these routes, the authorities aim to create a reliable backbone for electric freight movement, reducing dependence on diesel and cutting emissions across the transport sector.

The plan also includes a coordinated effort with state governments and private partners to ensure that the network is operational before the end of the next fiscal year, providing immediate support to logistics companies transitioning to electric fleets.
