Silver Prices Slip Near ₹2.45k/kg Amid Profit Taking

Silver prices on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) eased on Monday, hovering around ₹2,45,499 per kilogram, a decline of ₹1,098 or 0.46% from the previous close. The September 4, 2026 silver contract opened at ₹2,45,597 per kg, lower than the prior close of ₹2,46,597.

The metal's intraday range stretched from a low of ₹2,44,815 to a high of ₹2,46,475 per kilogram. Analysts point to profit‑taking as the primary driver, noting that the recent upward momentum in silver prompted many traders to lock in gains.

In the broader precious‑metal market, COMEX silver fell 0.68% to $69 per ounce, while gold continued its ascent, gaining 0.44% to $4,701 per ounce. The divergence highlights differing market dynamics for the two metals.

Domestically, Indian equity indices rose modestly, each gaining roughly 0.20% as global cues remained favorable for risk‑on assets.
