Rs 493 Cr Funding Approved for Gwalior Telecom Zone Infrastructure

The Government of India has cleared a complete financial support package worth Rs 493 crore for the first phase of the Gwalior Telecom Manufacturing Zone. The funds will be deployed to build essential utilities, internal road networks, high‑capacity power substations and water treatment facilities across the 350‑acre site.

According to the Ministry of Communications, this investment aligns with the India Semiconductor Mission and the Electronics Components Scheme, ensuring that the zone can support end‑to‑end research, development and mass production of advanced telecom components. The financial backing is expected to draw large‑scale private capital and spur the growth of MSMEs and start‑ups in the electronics and telecom sectors.
