Reserve Bank of India Reports Stable Currency Reserve Levels
According to the latest weekly bulletin, India’s foreign exchange reserves held steady at $780.78 billion for the week ending September 11. This follows a peak of $785.71 billion recorded in the prior week, which was boosted by a $44.90 billion increase.
Foreign currency assets, the largest share of the reserves, were valued at $648.17 billion, up $47.498 billion from the previous reporting period. Compared with the end of March, FCA grew by $95.886 billion, and it is $63.692 billion higher than the same week a year earlier.
The RBI’s consistent reserve posture serves as a critical buffer, enabling India to navigate external economic shocks and maintain market confidence amidst fluctuating global currency markets.
