Ram Mohan Naidu Announces ₹28,840 Crore Investment for Aviation Growth

Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu told the advisory committee that India’s aviation sector is poised for a transformative leap. With a fresh infusion of ₹28,840 crore, the government aims to close the regional connectivity gap, expand the flying‑training‑organisation (FTO) ecosystem from 32 entities in 2020 to 41 by 2026, and double the number of flying bases to 63. The minister also underscored India’s leadership in drone technology, electric vertical take‑off and landing (eVTOL) projects, and the push for stronger Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) and air‑cargo capabilities. He stressed that the focus is on building a skilled domestic workforce rather than relying on foreign talent.
