Opposition Accuses Government of US Influence Over New UPI Rule

Opposition leader Rahul Gandhi alleged that the introduction of a fee on high‑value UPI transactions was taken at the behest of the United States. BJP spokesperson Guru Prakash countered that the charge affects only 4 percent of all UPI payments, most of which are below ₹2,000, and that there is no external involvement. He warned that spreading misinformation only confuses the public.
