Oct 20 Marks Launch of India‑New Zealand FTA, Boosting Zero‑Tariff Trade

The forthcoming free‑trade agreement expands beyond goods to cover services, education, sport, culture, agricultural productivity and technology cooperation. Under the deal, nearly all Indian products entering New Zealand will enjoy zero customs duties, a move that is expected to accelerate export growth. Moreover, the pact opens New Zealand’s market to Indian providers across roughly 140 service categories, ranging from IT and financial services to tourism and professional consulting. Officials anticipate that the removal of tariffs will make Indian offerings more competitive while giving New Zealand businesses greater access to a fast‑growing Indian consumer base.
