Oberoi Group’s Consolidated Earnings Slip Quarter‑on‑Quarter, Operating Costs Trimmed

EIH Limited, the hospitality flagship of the Oberoi Hotels chain, disclosed its Q1 results for FY 2026‑27. Consolidated earnings before tax (EBT) fell to ₹164.92 crore from ₹348.62 crore recorded in the March quarter, a 52% dip in net profit to ₹120.31 crore.

The decline was partly offset by lower tax expense, which fell to ₹49.00 crore from ₹119.24 crore in the previous quarter. No extraordinary items were reported in the June quarter, unlike the ₹110.49 crore and ₹132.08 crore extraordinary gains recorded in June 2025 and March 2026 respectively.

Total expenses for the quarter were ₹533.02 crore, down from ₹605.33 crore a month earlier but above the ₹452.95 crore seen a year ago, indicating a nuanced cost‑management approach.

Pre‑tax profit (PBT) registered at ₹169.31 crore, improving from ₹54.18 crore a year earlier but trailing the ₹368.34 crore posted in the March quarter. These figures illustrate a recovering profitability trajectory amid a softer revenue environment.
