Passenger connectivity saw a major uplift in 2026 with the launch of 14 new train pairs, including the Vande Bharat Sleeper Express from Kamakhya and the inaugural Memu service linking Agartala with Karimganj. Additional special runs addressed high‑demand slots, delivering 674 extra trips. These additions provide faster, more comfortable travel options for the region’s commuters and help bridge the gap between major northeastern cities.
