New Dashboard Tools Allow Officials to Track Production, Imports, and Retail Sales

The rollout of a series of digital initiatives has brought India’s Integrated Fertiliser Management System (IFMS) into an advanced stage of operation. Designed to heighten transparency, enhance fertiliser availability and enable data‑driven oversight of the supply chain, the system now captures the activities of more than 14 crore Aadhaar‑linked farmers, 2.5 million dealers and roughly 7 million metric tonnes of fertiliser transactions annually.

Powered by the National Information Centre (NIC) of the Fertiliser Department, IFMS stitches together the entire fertiliser ecosystem – from manufacturing output and import arrivals to logistics movements, warehouse stocks, point‑of‑sale transactions and subsidy allocation. The latest suite of dashboards and analytical modules provides officials with a consolidated view of production levels, import volumes, dispatch schedules, inventory status and retail sales figures.

These tools are scalable across national, state, district and dealer layers, allowing early identification of atypical patterns and emergent supply constraints. A key achievement has been the seamless integration of IFMS with state‑run farmer, land and crop databases, forming a unified data repository for policymakers.

In Haryana, the system has been linked with the "My Crop My Detail" (MFM‑B) platform and subsequently with AgriStack, establishing a robust mechanism to align fertiliser purchase records with farmer and land information. The initiative has delivered practical insights into land‑record completeness, highlighted data‑quality issues, and demonstrated the value of merging transaction logs with agronomic datasets to gauge fertiliser demand more accurately.

The Fertiliser Storage Framework (FSF) represents a pivotal addition, aiming to fuse IFMS’s point‑of‑sale (POS) network with a mobile‑app‑based fertiliser booking service. Upon verification of land ownership, a farmer uses his AgriStack ID to book the required fertiliser, receives a QR‑code booking confirmation, and completes verification at the POS device before the product is dispatched, ensuring accuracy in quantity and type.
