Multi‑Track Railway Expansion to Add 410 km Capacity by 2031

With the cabinet’s nod, India will add 410 km of multi‑track railway lines, enabling more simultaneous train movements, reducing bottlenecks, and shifting cargo from road to rail. Expected benefits include lower travel times, improved punctuality and an annual reduction of about 65 million kg of CO₂ emissions.
