Monday Market Update: 24‑Carat Gold Falls to ₹1.48  lakh per 10 g

Mumbai – On Monday, the price of 24‑carat gold experienced a dip, closing at ₹1,48,061 for every 10 g, down ₹1,369 from the prior close. The 22‑carat benchmark moved to ₹1,35,624, while the 18‑carat price slid to ₹1,11,046.

Silver also faced a modest correction, with the kilogram price now at ₹2,20,295, a fall of ₹814. On the international front, COMEX gold futures slipped 0.7% to $4,187 per ounce and silver fell 0.25% to $60.88 per ounce.

The primary driver appears to be the rupee’s appreciation, trading around ₹95.75 per U.S. dollar, which makes foreign‑denominated metal prices cheaper in rupee terms. Market watchers are awaiting the U.S. Consumer Price Index figures, anticipating that inflation data could reshape expectations for Federal Reserve interest‑rate policy.

With price swings likely to continue, experts suggest the gold market could hover between ₹1,48,000 and ₹1,52,000 per 10 g over the next few sessions.
