Despite the overall bearish tone, several mid‑cap and small‑cap indices showed resilience. Nifty Midcap 100 fell 146 points (0.23%) to 62,932 and Nifty Smallcap 100 slipped 19 points (0.10%) to 20,078, while a handful of large‑cap names posted gains.
