MCX Gold Futures Tick Higher, Silver Gains Above ₹2.40 Lakh
Mumbai, September 9 – On the MCX, gold futures for October 5, 2026 started the day at ₹152,120 per 10 grams, marginally below the previous close of ₹152,579. By 11:17 a.m., the contract had rallied ₹547, a 0.36% increase, closing at ₹153,126.
The metal’s intra‑day movement ranged from a low of ₹152,101 to a high of ₹153,168, underscoring a bullish bias. Silver mirrored the strength, with the December 4, 2026 contract opening at ₹239,620 per kilogram, up from ₹239,427. The price climbed ₹1,169 to ₹240,596, marking a 0.49% rise, while the day's extremes were ₹238,933 and ₹240,620 respectively.
Internationally, gold slipped 0.18% to $4,430 per ounce, while silver edged up 0.26% to $67 per ounce. Analysts cited escalating global tensions as the catalyst for heightened safe‑haven demand, counterbalanced by investor caution after recent U.S. inflation data. They expect the metal market to remain volatile ahead of the Federal Reserve’s policy meeting scheduled for next week.
