MCX Gold Futures Open Near ₹1.48 Lakh, Silver Follows

The MCX gold contract for August 5, 2026 opened at ₹1,47,840 on Friday, reflecting a 1.42% rise from the prior close of ₹1,45,758. By 9:48 a.m., the price had edged higher to ₹1,47,860, a 1.44% increase. Throughout the session, the contract’s low was ₹1,47,375 and its high reached ₹1,47,977.

Silver’s September 4, 2026 contract opened at ₹2,36,495, up 1.36% from the last close of ₹2,33,304. The metal later traded at ₹2,37,555, an uplift of 1.82%. Its intra‑day extremes were ₹2,36,495 and ₹2,38,216.

Internationally, COMEX prices rose 1.60% for gold to $4,191 per ounce and 3.08% for silver to $62.93 per ounce. Analysts credit the movement to a weakening dollar index—now at 100.56 after two days of decline—and to lower crude oil prices, with Brent near $72 and WTI around $69, which together ease inflation concerns.
