MCX Gold Futures Open Above ₹1,44,800, Silver Near ₹2,26,000
The Multi Commodity Exchange saw its gold futures for the August 5 2026 delivery breach the ₹1,44,800 mark, settling at ₹1,44,852 per 10 grams after a ₹1,517 jump at the opening bell. The contract’s intra‑day swing limited itself between a low of ₹1,44,311 and a high of ₹1,44,883.
Silver’s September 4 2026 contract opened at ₹2,26,568 per kilogram, holding firm above the ₹2,26,000 threshold with a modest gain of ₹2,259. The metal’s price oscillated between ₹2,25,885 and ₹2,26,892 during the session.
These movements mirror global trends where gold reached $4,133 per ounce and silver hovered near $60 per ounce, each posting gains of roughly 1.4‑1.5 percent in international markets. Analysts point to continued geopolitical strain in the Middle East and a softened dollar as sustaining forces behind the upward trajectory.
