Manufacturing Surge Boosts India's GDP, Experts Highlight Export Rise

Economic analysts note that the 7.8 percent growth rate recorded in Q1 FY27 exceeded the Reserve Bank of India's expectations and outperformed the 6.9 percent gain recorded during the same period last year. Market expert Sunil Shah pointed out that the surge came at a time when crude oil prices jumped from about $65 to $110 per barrel due to Middle East tensions, which had initially prompted lower growth forecasts. Shetty underscored the role of the construction‑equipment segment as a bellwether for manufacturing health, citing a 31.5 percent rise in exports and a consistent 15 percent yearly growth over the past five years. He concluded that the combination of strong manufacturing data and the government's increased infrastructure spending creates a fertile ground for continued economic expansion.
