Liquidity Funds Face Largest Outflow of Rs 42,293 Crore in June

Debt‑fund outflows accelerated in June, with liquidity funds experiencing the steepest withdrawal of Rs 42,293 billion, as per AMFI’s latest figures. The outflow pattern continued the trend from May, where debt schemes saw net redemptions of Rs 96,948 billion.

Low‑duration funds recorded the second‑largest exit at Rs 16,484.01 billion, followed by money‑market funds with Rs 10,595 billion pulled out by investors. The total outflow from debt‑oriented products climbed to approximately Rs 1.09 lakh crore.

In contrast, equity‑linked mutual funds enjoyed robust inflows, reaching a total of Rs 28,973 billion – a 26% increase over the previous month. Mid‑cap funds led the charge with Rs 6,090 billion, while small‑cap and flexi‑cap categories attracted Rs 5,602 billion and Rs 5,231 billion respectively.

Gold ETFs saw fresh money of Rs 3,443.23 billion, and other ETFs added Rs 13,237 billion. Index funds, however, posted a slight net redemption of Rs 58 billion.

These movements pushed the overall assets under management (AUM) of the Indian mutual‑fund industry to Rs 82,22,480.04 billion at the end of June, with an average monthly AUM of Rs 84,18,485.5 billion.
