Key Sectors Engaged as DDA Plans Comprehensive Consultation on Master Plan
The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) is set to launch a comprehensive stakeholder consultation programme for the Master Plan for Delhi‑2047 (MPD‑2047). The initiative, prompted by the Lieutenant Governor’s recommendation, aims to hold twenty meetings with diverse interest groups before the end of November.
The DDA will meet elected representatives, various government agencies, professional institutions, industry chambers, residents, landowners and other parties directly. These engagements are designed to provide a dedicated platform for discussion of MPD‑2047’s various provisions, strengthen coordination among implementing agencies and foster active citizen participation.
Core discussion points will include Transit Oriented Development (TOD), High‑Density Corridors (HDC), land‑pooling mechanisms and Low‑Density Areas (LDA). Sessions with Members of Parliament and state legislators will also focus on the plan’s major provisions.
Industry organisations such as CII, FICCI, PHD Chamber, ASSOCHAM and DSIIDC will be consulted on measures to boost industrial development and simplify land acquisition for new projects. Architects, town planners, professional bodies and private‑sector stakeholders will join conversations about TOD, HDC, land‑pooling and other development opportunities outlined in the master plan.
The DDA will reach out to Resident Welfare Associations, group housing societies, cooperative housing groups and other community bodies to discuss group‑housing redevelopment. Separate, region‑wise meetings with farmers, landowners and local stakeholders will address land‑pooling related issues.
Additional themes covered in the outreach include revitalisation of low‑density zones, Yamuna riverfront renewal, expansion of Delhi’s blue‑green network, heritage conservation, mixed‑use development, commercial hub upgrades, in‑situ slum redevelopment, and strategies to ease traffic congestion. Dedicated stakeholder sessions will also focus on expanding educational and medical infrastructure, involving universities, research institutes, hospitals and related entities.
