Infrastructure Spending and Manufacturing Keep India Ahead

The United Nations’ latest trade and development report attributes India’s rapid growth to two converging forces: massive public‑infrastructure investment and a swelling manufacturing base.

Even with a heavy dependence on imported crude oil, the country’s commitment to roads, railways, ports and digital networks is strengthening the supply chain, which in turn fuels industrial output.

The report projects a 7.3 % GDP increase for FY 2027‑28, followed by a modest 6.8 % gain in the next fiscal year, reflecting the lingering but manageable impact of higher energy prices.

Regional analysts cited in the study say India is emerging as a key economic hub, sharing digital‑payment technologies and infrastructure know‑how with an expanding list of partner nations.
