Indian bourses climb on IT, realty buying; Sensex up 0.61%

In Mumbai, the Sensex opened at 71,951.73 with a 0.04 percent gain and quickly moved higher, closing the day 0.61 percent above the previous close at 72,370.16. The Nifty rose from 22,364.15 to a peak of 22,523.65, marking a 0.71 percent increase. The rally was led by information‑technology and real‑estate stocks, which lifted their respective Nifty sub‑indices by near 2 percent. PSU banks, FMCG and Oil & Gas sectors added small but positive momentum, whereas health‑care and pharma indices slipped by up to 0.75 percent.
