Mumbai, Oct 15 – After a $32 billion shortfall in July, India's goods trade deficit fell to $30.21 billion in September, according to the latest government release.
The narrowing reflects a two‑month swing in export performance. While July saw exports of $44.24 billion, September reached $44.40 billion, slightly above the July level. Import values also moderated, dropping from $76.22 billion in July to $74.61 billion in September.
Officials highlighted that the improvement signals a positive shift in trade dynamics, even as external factors like oil and fertilizer price volatility persist.
