India’s CA Community Credited for Major Fiscal Reforms, Says Vice President

At the 78th Chartered Accountants Day ceremony, Vice‑President C.P. Radhakrishnan credited the chartered accountant community with the successful rollout of several key financial reforms. He stated that the expertise of CAs was instrumental in implementing GST, the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, Direct Benefit Transfer and sweeping tax reforms.

“Each audit, every certified balance sheet and every piece of financial advice extends beyond the corporate sphere – it reaches government, industry and the broader public,” the Vice‑President explained. He urged all CAs to continue upholding honesty and fairness throughout their careers.

Radhakrishnan also introduced two digital initiatives: the ICAI Peer Review Board (PRB) web portal and a new “ICAI Jan Utsav” platform developed with the Ministry of AYUSH. Both tools aim to increase engagement with the profession and enhance the transparency of peer‑review processes.

The Vice‑President concluded by reiterating that ethical conduct is the foundation of sustainable wealth, quoting Tamil saint‑poet Thiruvalluvar: honest earnings lead to lasting happiness and prosperity.
