Government adopts whole‑of‑government approach after West Asia flare‑up

NEW DELHI – Following the recent escalation in West Asia, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reinforced the need for a cohesive, whole‑of‑government response. He instructed that all relevant ministries and agencies work in a synchronized manner to mitigate the impact on India’s strategic interests.

The Cabinet Secretary briefed the CCS on the current security landscape, outlining steps already taken to ensure adequate stocks of petroleum products, LNG, LPG and fertilisers. Diversification of LPG import contracts and the expansion of national gas grid infrastructure were highlighted as key achievements.

Modi also turned attention to the renewable energy agenda, urging faster deployment of solar projects and other clean‑energy alternatives to reduce long‑term reliance on imported fossil fuels. He called for accelerated implementation of the “Pipeline Infrastructure Order‑2026” to extend pipeline connectivity to end‑users across the country.

The Prime Minister concluded by emphasizing that a robust monitoring mechanism will be kept in place, with regular updates to the CCS and swift execution of any policy adjustments demanded by the evolving situation.
