Full‑Stack Space Economy Emerging as ISRO Partners with Startups

New Delhi, 23 August – India's ambition to become a full‑stack space economy is gaining traction, according to analysts speaking at the National Space Day celebrations.

Lieutenant General A.K. Bhat, who heads the Indian Space Association, said the country's private space ecosystem has matured quickly, moving from experimental rockets to commercially viable services.

He explained that a thriving space economy requires more than launch pads; it needs satellite platforms, data processing, and a suite of downstream applications that turn raw satellite data into actionable intelligence.

Bhat praised the synergy between ISRO’s deep technical knowledge, recent policy reforms, and the innovative capabilities of emerging private firms, describing it as a cornerstone for building a world‑class space ecosystem.

The consensus among the speakers was that while launch and satellite manufacturing remain vital, the real growth engine will be services such as remote sensing analytics, communication networks, and space‑based IoT solutions that can generate sustainable revenue and export potential.
