Five caregivers charged; police probe videos showing maltreatment

Law enforcement officials have identified five female caregivers in connection with a series of alleged abuse incidents at Capgemini's Bangalore daycare. The FIR, filed under the Juvenile Justice Act, was triggered after WhatsApp users shared videos that appeared to capture children being mistreated. The complaint alleges that the caregivers responded to infants' cries with physical aggression and intimidation, and in some cases, forced the youngsters into a bathroom, sprayed them with water jets, and placed them inside a washing machine. The alleged victims are toddlers aged two to three. Capgemini has halted the daycare's operations on an interim basis and is working closely with the police to ensure a transparent investigation.
