Finance Minister Signals No Major GST Rate Cuts at October Session

Minister Sitharaman reiterated that the upcoming council meeting will not entertain large‑scale rate reductions. The focus will shift to procedural enhancements that were postponed in the previous session, such as digital invoicing, virtual permanent establishment definitions and taxation of AI, robotics and gig‑economy activities. She also urged industry bodies to submit concrete suggestions on any lingering inconsistencies in the GST regime.
