Families of Four Slain CISF Men Receive Insurance and Aid

The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and the State Bank of India (SBI) have come together to support the families of four CISF personnel who died while on duty. A special programme was organised at the CISF headquarters in New Delhi on Monday.

The personnel died on September 29 during their deployment with CISF Unit SHEP Seva-II. The event focused on handing over financial assistance and welfare benefits to their families.

Leadership at the Event

CISF Director General Praveer Ranjan was present, along with ADG (Headquarters) Vijay Prakash and ADG (Airport Sector) Binita Thakur.

SBI was represented by adviser Harinath Mishra, General Manager Ajit Poddar and Deputy General Manager Suchitra Jain.

The Personnel Remembered

The four personnel who lost their lives were Assistant Commandant/Executive Ankit Kumar Pandey, Sub-Inspector/Executive Lachhman Singh, Constable/GD Md. Rafique and Constable/GD Sanjeev Kumar.

Breakdown of Support

For each family, the assistance includes Rs 1 crore under Personal Accident Insurance (PAI) and Rs 10 lakh under Group Term Life Insurance (GTLI). The CISF Risk Fund contributes Rs 20 lakh for dependants and Rs 5 lakh for parents.

Additionally, Rs 35,000 has been allocated for funeral expenses. The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) will provide Rs 25 lakh as ex-gratia, which is yet to be released.

The total assistance for each family is Rs 1.6 crore, including the MHA ex-gratia amount.

Pension and Future Assistance

The pension cases of all four personnel have been referred to the Pay and Accounts Office (PAO) in New Delhi for processing. CISF has also said it will help resolve any pending financial or pension matters. Eligible dependants may be considered for compassionate appointment as per the rules.

A Model of Cooperation

Officials from both organisations met the bereaved families and assured them that all payable benefits would be provided as soon as possible. The initiative demonstrates the growing cooperation between CISF and SBI and seeks to simplify access to insurance claims and other welfare benefits for families of deceased personnel.
