Doorstep banking and pension services reach every doorstep through post offices

Doorstep Banking, backed by India Post Payments Bank, is extending its reach to the most distant corners of the country. Pensioners can now obtain digital life certificates and other pension‑related services through their local post office, simplifying claim processes.

Union officials highlighted how the postal network's extensive coverage bridges the gap between citizens and government schemes, delivering a suite of services from quick parcel delivery to financial transactions.

The minister stressed that this integrated approach not only enhances financial inclusion but also creates a reliable channel for delivering essential civic services such as health supplies and safety equipment.

Officials thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for supporting the modernization of India Post, which they say has transformed the institution from a mail‑centric entity to a citizen‑centric service platform.
