With forecasts indicating thunderstorms and rainfall over Delhi this weekend, IndiGo has stepped up communication with passengers to reduce inconvenience. The carrier highlighted that gusty winds and sudden downpours could temporarily slow ground handling and air traffic control procedures at Indira Gandhi International Airport. Although crews are prepared with contingency plans, IndiGo stressed that real-time decisions by aviation authorities might still cause short delays. The airline recommended checking flight status via its app or website and suggested passengers carry extra time buffers when traveling through areas prone to waterlogging. Road congestion caused by rain is another factor the airline wants travelers to factor in. This proactive advisory follows a similar notice issued earlier for Mumbai routes facing torrential rains. In early May, an IndiGo flight headed to Patna had to divert after poor visibility prevented landing, underscoring how quickly weather can alter flight paths. IndiGo reiterated its commitment to safety and operational efficiency while asking customers to stay informed through verified sources only.
