The same study projects that the capital‑account surplus could swell from a modest USD 2 billion in FY 2025‑26 to about USD 73 billion in FY 2026‑27. Sources of the surge include FCNR(B) deposits, external commercial borrowing and overseas foreign‑currency borrowings accessed through discounted swap windows, together delivering between USD 45 billion and USD 60 billion in net capital inflows.
