Building a Developed India by 2047: Key Priorities Outlined

New Delhi, October 23: The pace at which India becomes a developed nation by 2047 will depend on its effectiveness in responding to global developments, its ability to develop capabilities on a large scale and its approach to ensuring accountability in reaching national goals. This was stated in a release on Friday, which said speed, capacity and accountability are indispensable to fulfilling the country's expectations.

According to the release, these three priorities will help India progress through geopolitical shifts, technological upheavals and the changing expectations of citizens.

The report noted that India has laid a strong groundwork over the past decade across infrastructure, digital public systems, financial inclusion, manufacturing and public investment. It said the challenge now lies in converting this groundwork into long-term competitiveness, resilience, innovation and fresh opportunities.

The analysis put emphasis on capital-driven growth, technology-based processes and institutions that place people at the centre. It also called for building strong capabilities in strategic sectors such as artificial intelligence, semiconductors, renewable energy, defence manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, agriculture and food processing.

Neelachal Mishra, partner and head of government and public services, said the way these three principles work together will show how efficiently India can translate its aspirations into results, investment into value and growth into widespread impact.

Yezdi Nagporewalla, chief executive officer of the India operations, said the nation's long-term success will depend on how well it channels its capabilities and strengths into higher productivity, stronger capacity and globally competitive enterprises.

The report was unveiled at the Agrasar Bharat Manch, a public sector excellence initiative. Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari said the platform is an impactful idea that reflects the country's aspirations and its resolve to move ahead. He added that it stresses progress through priority setting, innovation, consistent commitment and close collaboration among industry, academic institutions and other stakeholders.

The report reiterated that steady progress calls for a coordinated effort involving the government, industry and society.
