Benchmark Indices Close Higher; Bharti Airtel Leads Market‑Cap Gains
Closing numbers for the week of June 29‑July 3 show the Sensex ending at 77,763.91, up 0.86 per cent, and the Nifty finishing at 24,270.85, up 0.89 per cent. The upward movement was underpinned by a revival of buying pressure in large‑cap stocks. Bharti Airtel recorded the biggest jump in market capitalisation, adding ₹36,529.21 crore to its valuation and pushing its total to ₹11,63,877.30 crore. Bajaj Finance, ICICI Bank, LIC and HDFC Bank also posted sizeable increases in their market caps, adding more than ₹7,000 crore each. While Larsen & Toubro, Reliance Industries, State Bank of India and TCS saw their market values dip, they remain key constituents of India’s top‑ten list. The data underscores a market that is regaining momentum, with investors favouring the stability and growth prospects of established entities.
