The Dugrajpatnam shipyard is projected to become a major employment engine for Andhra Pradesh. According to the agreement, the venture will directly and indirectly create around 45,000 jobs, ranging from skilled shipwrights and engineers to support staff in logistics, manufacturing and ancillary services. The state’s long coastline, strategic location and robust industrial ecosystem are expected to attract further private investment and boost the regional economy. The project aligns with the central government’s Shipbuilding Development Scheme (SBDS) and is being overseen by the Andhra Pradesh Maritime Board and the Visakhapatnam Port Authority.
