Have you ever wondered about the life of a child star who grew up to become a global sensation? Nick Jonas is one such artist whose journey in the entertainment industry has inspired millions. From a young boy performing on Broadway to the frontman of the popular band Jonas Brothers, Nick's story is one of talent, determination, and evolution.

Who Is Nick Jonas?

Nick Jonas began his career in theater as a young boy and was offered a recording contract as a teenager. He formed the boy band the Jonas Brothers with his siblings Kevin and Joe and found great success while working with the Disney Channel. Beyond the band, Nick has gained notoriety as a solo artist and expanded his acting career to include both TV and movies.

Early Life

Nicholas Jerry Jonas was born on September 16, 1992, in Dallas, Texas. He was raised in Wyckoff, New Jersey, alongside his older brothers and future bandmates Kevin and Joe. All three boys played music together growing up, but it was Nick who was discovered first, singing in a hair salon while his mother got a haircut.

At the young age of 7, Jonas began his singing career on Broadway, appearing as Tiny Tim in the Madison Square Garden production of A Christmas Carol. His Broadway career continued with roles as replacement alternates in Les Miserables and Beauty and the Beast, and he also starred in Annie Get Your Gun with Reba McEntire.

While working on Broadway, Nick wrote a Christmas song with his father that was discovered by Columbia Records. This led to him being signed as a solo artist in 2004. His musically inclined siblings, Kevin and Joe, collaborated with him on several songs, ultimately leading to the formation of the Jonas Brothers.

The Jonas Brothers' Albums and Songs

'It's About Time,' 'Jonas Brothers'

Jonas and his brothers released their first album, It's About Time, with Columbia Records, but they were dropped shortly after. In early 2007, Disney's Hollywood Records picked them up, and soon their songs were everywhere on Radio Disney. Their self-titled album was released in 2007, reaching the Top 5 on the Billboard charts and going double platinum, with the single "S.O.S." hitting No. 1 on iTunes.

'A Little Bit Longer,' 'Lines, Vines and Trying Times'

Their follow-up album, A Little Bit Longer, marked a significant achievement: Jonas and his brothers became the first artists to have three albums in the Billboard Top 10 simultaneously. They released their third album with Hollywood Records in 2009, titled Lines, Vines and Trying Times.

Band Breakup

In late October 2013, the Jonas Brothers put rumors to rest by announcing their breakup. This came shortly after they canceled their fall tour and three months after their last Instagram post. Fans were shocked but hopeful for a future reunion.

Fast forward to January 2018, the Jonas Brothers reactivated their Instagram account, sparking speculation about a reunion. A photo posted by a former backing musician featured the brothers and the caption "Family reunion," which excited fans even more.

Return With 'Happiness Begins'

In March 2019, the Jonas Brothers made a grand return with their first new track, "Sucker," in nearly six years. The song debuted at No. 1, along with their reunion album Happiness Begins. After enjoying more chart success with the single "Only Human," the trio embarked on the Happiness Begins Tour in August.

TV, Stage and Movie Roles

'Camp Rock'

While balancing a recording career, Jonas also worked as a television actor. He starred in Disney Channel's TV movies Camp Rock (2008) and Camp Rock 2 (2010), alongside Demi Lovato. He also made notable guest appearances on the short-lived comedy Mr. Sunshine (2011) and ABC's Last Man Standing (2011).

'How to Succeed in Business,' 'Kingdom'

Jonas returned to Broadway in 2012 to replace Daniel Radcliffe in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. In 2014, he starred in the three-season run of Kingdom, where he portrayed a mixed martial arts fighter, showcasing his dedication to fitness.

'Jumanji,' 'Midway'

In 2015, Jonas starred in the erotic thriller Careful What You Wish For, and enjoyed a supporting role in 2017's Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle. He provided voice work for the animated film UglyDolls in 2019 and appeared in the World War II epic Midway, followed by Jumanji: The Next Level.

'The Voice'

In October 2019, it was announced that Jonas would replace Gwen Stefani as a coach on the singing competition series The Voice. He debuted in February 2020 and introduced a new solo single, "Until We Meet Again," during the season finale in May 2020.
