Smart Monitoring to be Implemented for Toll Pass Scheme to Prevent Misuse

A new toll policy is set to be implemented in the country from August 15th. Under this, a toll pass will be available for an entire year for just 3,000 rupees. The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways is working to prevent any misuse of this toll pass scheme. Currently, this scheme is being launched only for non-commercial vehicles. To prevent trucks, buses, and non-commercial vehicle owners from recharging the pass with their vehicle numbers, the ministry is connecting this scheme with apps like Vahan-e-Parivahan and other systems that verify the identity of commercial and non-commercial vehicles. The benefit will initially be available only to non-commercial vehicles. A system is also being prepared to prevent commercial vehicles from using it.
