Renault India has released a teaser for the updated Kiger SUV facelift, confirming the launch of the sub-compact SUV on August 24th. This marks a significant update for the Kiger since its initial launch in 2021, arriving at a time when the demand for compact SUVs is high, and competition is fierce. Similar to the updated Nissan Magnite, launched in October 2024, the Renault Kiger is expected to feature feature updates and cosmetic changes. Upon launch, it will compete with Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, and Nissan Magnite. Prices are anticipated to be slightly higher than the current model, potentially ranging from approximately ₹6.2 lakh to ₹11.5 lakh for the top variant.
Based on the teaser, Renault is focusing on development. The new Kiger will showcase a new lime green color and the brand’s updated 2D diamond logo on the front. It is expected to feature a new grille design, redesigned bumpers, slim headlamps, and new LED DRLs, similar to the Nissan Magnite. At the rear, new C-shaped tail lamps with new LED internals will give the SUV a more modern look.
The engine in the new Renault Kiger will remain unchanged, offering a 1.0-liter naturally aspirated petrol and a 1.0-liter turbo-petrol engine. These engines will be available with manual, AMT, and CVT transmission options. A CNG version will also be available through dealer fitment. Interior changes are expected, including soft-touch materials, new upholstery tones, and minor changes to the dashboard layout. Features such as an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a digital driver display, wireless charging, and automatic climate control may be included. Six airbags are also expected.
