The anticipated Renault Duster Hybrid is slated for an early 2026 launch. The seven-seater Bigster, a variant of the Duster, will follow within 6 to 12 months after the initial release. Reports suggest the vehicle will feature a strong hybrid powertrain. Production of the new Duster is set to commence at the Renault Nissan plant in Chennai. Initially, the Duster will be available with a petrol engine, including turbo-petrol options. Hybrid variants are expected to be introduced within 6-12 months of the launch. Globally, the Duster is offered with a 94Hp, 1.6-liter four-cylinder petrol engine paired with two electric motors, delivering a combined output of approximately 140Hp. The Bigster is equipped with a 155Hp system, comprising a 108 Hp petrol engine and a 51Hp motor. The platform supporting the Duster and Bigster, CMF-B, is designed to accommodate internal combustion, hybrid, and electric powertrains, ensuring flexibility for future models. Renault is also prioritizing CNG and hybrid powertrains to cater to diverse fuel preferences in India.
