Hyundai Motor India has announced ambitious plans for the Indian market. The company recently unveiled an aggressive product strategy, aiming to launch a total of 26 new models by 2030. This new range will include options for ICE (Internal Combustion Engine), electric, and hybrid vehicles, catering to the diverse needs of different customers. Hyundai’s multi-powertrain and multi-segment strategy aims to become the second-largest vehicle manufacturer in the Indian market, competing with strong rivals such as Mahindra & Mahindra and Tata Motors.
In 2026, Hyundai plans to launch four major products. This includes the all-new Hyundai Bayon compact crossover and the Exter EV, along with the Verna and Exter facelifts. The 2026 Hyundai Verna and Exter are expected to receive cosmetic and feature upgrades while retaining their current engine setups.
According to media reports, the 2026 Hyundai Verna facelift will feature significant changes to the front fascia. These may include newly designed headlamps and taillamps, along with slightly updated front and rear bumpers. The 2026 Hyundai Verna facelift is also expected to offer new upholstery and additional safety features, with minor changes to its exterior design.
The Hyundai Verna is currently available with a 115 bhp, 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine and a 160 bhp, 1.5-liter turbo petrol engine option. The base variant of this sedan is priced at Rs 11.07 lakh, while the top-end trim costs Rs 17.58 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom). The Hyundai Exter is equipped with a 1.2-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine, which generates a maximum power of 83 hp and a torque of 114 Nm. It also comes in a CNG variant. The Hyundai Exter, the most affordable and smallest SUV, is currently priced between Rs 6 lakh and Rs 10.51 lakh (all ex-showroom). Both the Verna and Exter are likely to see a slight price increase after the midlife update in 2026.
