The Congress party on Monday dissolved its Uttar Pradesh and Karnataka committees in the wake of the recent electoral debacle. The party’s working committee is likely to meet next week to decide on the post of the party president as Rahul Gandhi is “adamant on resignation”. Several people were injured as fresh clashes were reported in trouble-torn Bhatpara area in North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal Saturday as rival groups violated Section 144 imposed there.Police had to resort to lathi charge to disperse the crowd.
