Three Day All India Tribal Literature Festival

For the cultural development and promotion of tribals, a three-day All India Tribal Literature Festival, state level tribal dance festival and state level tribal art and painting competition are to be organized in the capital Raipur. This event will be organized in the capital Raipur from April 11 to 13. The Director of Tribal Research and Training Institute, Mrs. Shammi Abidi, today gave necessary directions by taking a meeting of the officials and officers of the committees constituted regarding the preparation of these three programmes. As per the instructions of Tribal and Scheduled Caste Development Minister Dr. Premsai Singh Tekam and Secretary Shri D.D. Under the guidance of Singh and Commissioner Smt. Shammi Abidi, the outline of the entire program has been prepared. It was informed in the meeting that under the All India Tribal Literature Festival, a total of 10 subjects – Tribal Literature, Tomorrow Today and Tomorrow, Tribal Tradition and Culture, Tattooing in Tribal Art, Bamboo Crafts, Wood Crafts, Metal Crafts etc., Tribal Language-dialect, Tribal Folk Competition based on research papers related to dance and folk songs, role of women in tribal literature, tribal development and problems, tribal folktales, idioms, folktales and riddles, tribal struggle and role of tribes in freedom struggle etc. will be organized. In this literary works written by all the prominent tribal writers of Chhattisgarh as well as national level writers will also be included. Instructions were also given in the meeting to organize an exhibition of books of various publishers written on tribal literature in the three-day festival so that more and more tribal literature can be promoted. Dance teams will be selected by organizing a competition at the divisional level, so that all the genres of the tribes of Chhattisgarh can be presented in the state level competition. Under the state level tribal art and painting competition, competition is to be organized among the enlightened people having interest in various tribal arts and painting. Tribal painting competition is proposed to be organized in four categories – 6 to 12 years, 12 to 18 years, 18 to 30 years and above 30 years group. Apart from this, instructions were also given to the concerned in the meeting to organize an exhibition of tribal art and painting competition. Efforts are being made to incorporate every aspect of tribal culture in this state level event, so that its information can reach as many people as possible. Officers-in-charge of various committees constituted at the headquarters level for successful operation of these programs as well as officers of Tribal Research and Training Institute were present in the meeting.
