Narva Development Program: In the year 2020-21, more than two-thirds of the work approved in the CAMPA item is towards completion.

Under the important “Narva Development Program” being run by the State Government under the Suraji Gaon Yojana, an amount of more than Rs 388 crore has been approved in Part-1 and Part-2 of CAMPA’s Annual Action Plan 2020-21. In this, 44 lakh 34 thousand ground water conservation structures are being constructed in 5.86 lakh hectare watershed area of ​​2030 small and big drains with a length of 03 thousand 263 km. Forest and Climate Change Minister Shri Mohammad Akbar informed that about 05 lakh 86 thousand hectare land of Vananchal will be treated with their construction. Under CAMPA (Chhattisgarh Compensatory Afforestation Fund Management and Planning Authority) in the year 2020-21 Part-1, about 20 lakh 76 thousand 484 for construction of 20 lakh 76 thousand 484 ground water conservation related structures in 01 thousand 92 small and big drains. Approval has been given for an amount of Rs. Out of these, construction of 18 lakh 60 thousand structures has been completed by spending an amount of Rs 139 crore so far. With their construction, 03 lakh 60 thousand 777 hectare land of Vananchal will be treated. Similarly, under the year 2020-21 Part-2, an amount of about Rs 178 crore has been approved for the construction of 23 lakh 58 thousand 273 ground water conservation related structures in 938 small and big drains. Of these, construction of 10 lakh 41 thousand structures has been completed by spending an amount of Rs 45 crore so far. Due to their construction, 02 lakh 24 thousand 838 hectare land of Vananchal will be treated. It is worth mentioning that under the special initiative of Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel and under the guidance of Minister of Forest and Climate Change, Shri Mohammad Akbar, a large number of water bodies, rivers and ponds have been revived for conservation and promotion of ground water in the forest areas of the state. The task has been taken. For this, Forest Minister Shri Akbar informed that these water storage structures to be built under the head of Chhattisgarh State Compensatory Afforestation, Fund Management and Planning Authority (CAMPA) will ensure the availability of drinking water for the people living in the forest and wild animals.
