Industries Minister Shri Lakhma performed Bhoomipujan for the construction of a bridge in Baru river

Industries Minister Shri Kawasi Lakhma performed Bhoomipujan for the construction of a bridge over river Baru at village Sagunghat in Chhindgarh block of Sukma district today. The additional distance between Sagunghat and Gupanpal will be reduced due to the construction of a 168 meter bridge over Baru river at a cost of 990.36 lakh. Industries Minister Shri Lakhma congratulated the villagers on the Bhoomipujan of the bridge and approach road construction work on the Baru river. He said that for the development of the district, construction of bridges is important for smooth movement of roads and rivers. With the construction of the bridge, about 10 thousand villagers of 9 villages including Sagunghat, Leda, Puspal, Reddypal, Badanpal, Kumakoleng, Chitalnar, Kikirpa and Tumukpal will get the facility of transportation. Describing the strengthening of transport facilities in rural development as one of the priorities of the government, he said that the government is working dedicatedly for the interest of the farmers. Minister Mr. Lakhma said that the farmers are getting the right price for their produce. Now landless laborers will also be provided 6 thousand rupees in a year under the Rajiv Gandhi Rural Landless Farmer Mazdoor Nyay Yojana by the government. Along with this, financial benefits are also being provided under tree plantation incentive scheme etc. Devgudi is being constructed for the development of tribal culture, customs and faith in the tribal area. Clean drinking water is being provided to every household in rural areas under the Jal Jeevan Mission. The state government is providing eggs to children and women in Anganwadi with an aim to remove malnutrition. Due to these efforts of the state government, malnutrition has come down even in extreme tribal areas like Sukma. He announced to build a sports ground at Tongpal in Chhindgarh block.
