According to the intention of Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel, the fruitful results of Narva Vikas program, which is being run with the aim of making rainwater drains located in rural areas of the state, protected and useful for water harvesting, irrigation and environmental protection, has started showing in the entire state. Conservation of Narva, included in the four components of Suraji Gaon Yojana, has encouraged ground water enrichment, nistar, irrigation facilities as well as environmental protection and biodiversity in the areas around the drain. Starting from the Gram Panchayat Bhurki of Bemetara district to the Gram Panchayat Jewari, it has got a new life due to the treatment of Karva Nala, which is about 15 km long. Now due to water logging in this drain till February-March, farmers have started getting facilities for irrigation of Rabi crops. In the villages situated on the banks of the drain, the ground water level and greenery in the fields have increased. This Nala passes through Gram Panchayat Bhurki via Hammudi, Dunda, Otebandh, Rajkudi, and Jewari. For the prevention of water in Karva Nala, treatment work has been done at various places from the beginning to the end. 42 structures have been built in the drain at a cost of Rs.10 lakh. 105 farmers have started doing Rabi farming by taking advantage of water logging in the drain. Due to which their income has increased. The irrigated area in the area has increased to about 345.12 hectares. This rainy drain barely had water till September-October before the treatment. After the drainage treatment and catchment area treatment of Narva, now it has started retaining water till February-March.
