Women and Child Development and Social Welfare Minister Mrs Anila Bhendia attended the state level women empowerment and marriageable youth-girl introduction conference organized by Marar Patel Samaj at Mahamayi Para, Raipur on Monday. The conference was organized on the occasion of the birth anniversary of the first woman teacher of India, Smt. Savitri Bai Phule. Smt. Anjubala Patel presided over the program. The chief guest, Smt. Bhendia, while remembering the invaluable contribution made by social reformer and Marathi poet Smt. Savitri Bai Phule for the empowerment of women, said that Smt. Phule along with her husband Jotiba Phule had helped women. He did remarkable work in the field of rights and education. Smt. Bhendia appealed to the women to come forward to ensure the participation of women in the development of the society. Along with this, he also emphasized on educating and pursuing daughters. In the program, about 200 young men and women introduced themselves to choose life partners. Along with motivating widows, widowers, divorced people for a happy new life, marriage of Mr. Toran Patel, resident of village Selud and Mrs. Suhaga Patel, resident of village Belergaon was done. On this occasion, a booklet of marriageable youth-girl introduction rosary was also released. Special guests Smt. Sandhya Malikar Patel, Smt. Kanchan Mallikar Patel and State President Shri Rajendra Nayak Patel also addressed the people and encouraged them to take inspiration from the life of Mata Savitri Bai Phule.
